VO Max measures the milliliters of oxygen you use per kilogram of body weight in one minute. If someone has a VO Max of "50" (fully expressed as "50 mL/kg/min"), it means their maximum oxygen consumption in one minute is 50 milliliters per kilogram of bodyweight.
